Beer for Hope!

Hello TWBF Fans!

When we announced our 2021 date, we mentioned we had a few other ideas up our sleeves to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the TN Winter Beer Fest. One of those ideas is Beer for Hope! While we are hopeful we can come together for the 10th anniversary TWBF in February, we began to reflect on the many wonderful years and the brewers that have supported us. They’ve believed in this event, in us, and in New Hope Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center. They’ve donated beer, their time, items for the silent auction and have been nothing short of awesome. So we asked ourselves, what could we do to raise some money for New Hope while shining the light back on our brewers? Beer for Hope was the answer!

What is Beer for Hope? Brewers across Knoxville and as far away as Chattanooga and Nashville have been invited to participate by each brewing their own interpretation of Beer for Hope and putting it on in their taprooms. Part of the proceeds from Beer for Hope will go to the TWBF to be included in this year’s donation to New Hope. To date, 15 brewers have confirmed that they will be participating including: Abridged Beer Co, Albright Grove Brewing Co, Blackberry Farm Brewery, Blackhorse Brewery, Clinch River Brewing, Crafty Bastard Brewery, Depot Street Brewing, Elkmont Exchange, Hexagon Brewing Co, Last Days of Autumn Brewing, Pretentious Beer Co, Printshop Beer Co, Tennessee Brew Works, Tri Hop Brewery, and Xul Beer Co.

The first week of November taprooms will have Beer for Hope available. Don’t worry, we’ll let you know where to go so you can go try each unique beer, raise a glass, and share your experience via the #Beer4Hope hashtag!

We kicked things off today by participating with Elkmont Exchange in brewing their Beer for Hope Beer which is a really cool saison/lager combo that we are excited about. “We’re super excited to be a part of this!” shares Chris Meadows, Brewmaster for Elkmont Exchange. “Rob (Shomaker of the TWBF Board) and I both have kids. This is an issue that speaks to us because we know how the potential for abuse is high, especially with all the tension in the world. We put our heads together in the wake of COVID-19 and figured out a way to do what we love and help out an important cause.” Chris also reached out to Malteurop Malting Company who donated the malt for the beer! Wow! Some pictures from today are below.

We are super excited about Beer for Hope and celebrating with you all! We are greatly thankful for our brewers and for all of y’all for making 10 years possible. Thank you for your support and for supporting New Hope!
